Direct from Korea.

Green Tea Kit Kat

Though these Green Tea Kit Kats are made in Japan, Paul brought them back from Korea.

As you can read here, I quite like this flavor.  I was happy to receive more.  Thanks, Paul!

It seems that NestlĂ© will incorporate almost anything edible into a Kit Kat, but they seldom sell in the U.S.  The Japanese may have the most exciting choices.  Have you tried or seen any unusual ones?

Poetry Tuesday: Mommy Complex

Mother's Finger
[Mother's Finger - Blueberry Flavor. Thanks, Paul!]

Maternal/Infernal--Digital/Edible

Mother, your finger, your
Blueberry finger points,
A long, white packing peanut
Sweet and purple side to you
A blander melting white rice-ness:
Blank slate Cheeto.

Mother, I do not know you
I cannot hold your hand.
Your fingers broke off like lizards' tails
As I tried to keep the clasp.
Your useless gestures are rolling
Around in my mouth.

Mother, you are removed,
The bright fruit of you is fleeting,
The sigh and styrofoam remains.
I absorbed your indexes, have finely hidden
Any knowing I could do.
To chew is not to capture.

These
Blueberry fingers of Mother are
My own. I have eaten them
All.

Tanger-keen.

Exterior

Interior

Paul kindly shared these Korean tangerine-filled chocolates from Jeju Island (which he described as "Korea's Hawaii"). Unwrapped, they have the same sort of delightful citrus+chocolate scent and flavor as a Terry's Chocolate Orange, but the textures and tastes of the filling and chocolate shell are disparate, even as they play together nicely. I don't know that I would have guessed (without having been told) that these are tangerine-flavored, as opposed to orange, but that hardly matters to me. Whatever citrus they realistically resemble, I just know I'd eat more.

Enyo 1

Enyo 2

Enyo 3

Enyo 4

Enyo 5

  • tasted like: pear and coconut; a Goya fruit nectar
  • faintly fermented ?
  • sweet
  • thin, but tastes thick
  • Paul says v. popular in Korea; I can't argue!
